Lightest Windows Phone 8.1 handset ever, built by XOLO

Even though Windows Phones are quite famous for being very efficient in their hardware requirements, they haven’t beaten any records when it comes to form factors, unless you start to consider the Nokia Lumia 1020, obviously. Still, Microsoft is coming up with a ton of very interesting partnerships this year in order to boost Windows Phone 8.1 in markets like Asia. If you’re wondering what the plan is, and how Microsoft’s partners plan to differentiate the future products, here’s a glimpse.
India’s-based XOLO is quite famous for making some decent smartphone designs at a very affordable price for the market. We’ve seen the company also innovate with the fastest Android phone in the market, the Intel-powered 2GHz X1000. Today the company confirmed that its working on adding some additional innovation in its Windows Phone 8.1 offering, and this time with the weight of the device, as the company plans to launch a device that weighs just 100 grams, which is roughly 3.5 ounces, even while sporting a 4.7-inch display. Just to give you an idea, the Galaxy S4 mini weighs 107 grams (3.7 ounces) and with a 4.3-inch display.
Obviously the tough hit here is that the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 200, but remember that’s never a problem for Windows Phone. All we have to do now is wait for Microsoft to actually launch it.
